Kayak Glamping at Taku Resort and Marina on Quadra Island

In April 2023, Cowichan Kayak and Canoe Club (and friends) rented cabins and RV spaces at Taku. The resort is a short walk to shops or Heriot Bay Inn. A spacious ramp accommodates lots of kayaks launching.

Paddling options:

Afternoon - explore Drew Harbour and Rebecca Spit.

Day trip: paddle north from the resort (avoiding the ferry to Cortes) to explore bays and Breton islands for intertidal features.

Drive: 25 minutes to launch at Granite Bay and explore Kanish Bay, Bodega Point and islands.

Nearby Main Lake offers a chance to clean kayaks and hike to Yetman Bay.

The modern cabins are cozy with comfy beds, well-appointed kitchens, photo albums with tourist info, BBQs, picnic tables, and binoculars. There is limited space for hanging wet gear. Wifi was sporadic when we were there.

The office has for sale Quadra Island trail maps, souvenir caps, hats, cups and cutting boards. For loan are board games and racquets and balls for the tennis and bocce courts.
